The Nightingale Floor

June 24, 2011

I let one piece fall off

And try to keep the rest afloat

While going on the road

Clutching the soul

Clutching the soul

of my little self.

I think and tell myself

Stubborn as she is,

I am a force

That cannot be she,

And she, will no longer breathe life

Onto the playground that saw us

Though twins we once were,

Far from over our shared ordeal

Life is more cruel than tender

Far from over our shared ordeal

Life is more cruel than tender

I am a force

That cannot be she

a woman, mis-fit

stepping soft and quiet

On the wooden Nightingale floor,

resting my naked feet

Calluses, blisters, and corns

On this ground that whispers

The to and fro of the mistakes

We make

We make

as we get to know this intimate place.

Codo a codo

June 24, 2011

Women Women Women

June 24, 2011

Your dream

sunk its claws

into

the crevice

of this mind.

I dreamt nightmares

of the women in your life

crying goodbyes

as you shrieked inside your vision

and cried to them back

The women of your life

recede into the back

of desire they are signs:

a simple, clean

road to lofty madness

Of evening promenades.
